Hazel Patricia (Pat) Bickford
Pat Bickford passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2025 after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on March 22, 1931 in the rural community of Willowdale, east of Red Deer, to Walter and Mary Rabidou. She lived her entire 94 years in the Red Deer area.
Early in her life she was a teacher in various schools in the Red Deer area and she loved living on the farm. In 1951, she married Kenneth Bickford, and together they farmed and lived in the Springvale District not far from where they were born until they relocated to Red Deer.
Patricia is pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Ken Bickford, as well as her only sister, Bernice Rathwell. She is survived by her children Twyla Supervich (Brian) and Aubrey Bickford (Bonnie). Also left to mourn are five grandchildren – Ian (formerly Shaun) Supervich, Chad Supervich (Lacey), Caitlin Bickford (Nathan), Krista Supervich (Jesse), and Caleb Bickford (Jenna). She also leaves three great grandchildren – Isabella, Nicholas, and Maxwell, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on January 30, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the historic Zion Presbyterian Church located on the grounds of the Sunnybrook Farm Museum, 2879 Botterill Crescent in Red Deer. A private family interment at the Red Deer cemetery will occur prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to do so, donations in Pat’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta. Pat’s family wishes to express deep gratitude to the devoted and caring staff of the Taylor View South Tower.
