On January 11, 2023, Harvey James McClelland of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully at the age of 73 years.

He will be lovingly remember by his daughters, Shannon (Richard) and Kelli (George) and five grandchildren Erin, Cassidy, Nathan, Matthew and Nasia, brother Rob McClelland (Diane) and sister in-law Linda; as well as many relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Wendy May McClelland, father Bruce McClelland and mother Ivy McClelland.

Harvey was a fine example of a Pillar of his Community. He was honest, kind, fair, helpful and highly respected by his peers, friends and family.

Harvey began as a grocery bagger, then VW mechanic, a scuba diving instructor and then dedicated himself to a thirty year long career with the RCMP.

He enjoyed the outdoors, adored animals, loved a good classic vehicle, played the best tunes on any jukebox and could literally chat about anything to anyone and interest and smiles would always emerge. Ultimately Harvey’s family was his pride and joy.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial Donations may be made in Harvey McClelland’ s name to the Diabetes Association ( #105, 6439 – 67 St, Red Deer, AB T4P 1A3).

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for their wonderful care and to Points West Living for their warmth, empathy and compassion.
