Harley Pipke

Harley Pipke of Red Deer passed away on August 10, 2018 at the age of 86. Harley was born in Torrington, Alberta in a family of nine to Willhelm and O’tilla Pipke on June 15, 1932. He was raised near Innisfail, where he received his schooling in country schools.
Harley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn; five children – Sandra (Rick) Bodwell of Red Deer, Katherine Hamilton of Coquitlam, BC, Douglas (Virginia) Pipke of Port Moody, BC, Carol (Dave) Roberts of Red Deer, and Kenneth Pipke (Jocelyn) of Coquitlam, BC – along with 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, special niece Jacquie (Tom) Tirrell of Red Deer, brothers Arnold (Irene) and Paul (Jean) of Red Deer, and sister Verna Banman of Innisfail.
Harley was predeceased by parents Bill and Tillie, brothers Alfred and George, and sisters Isabel Wilkins, Lorene Schneider, and Irene Kline.
Harley was in construction, owned gravel trucks, operated heavy machinery and delivered farm equipment for John Deere. He enjoyed country living, RVing, Arizona, and travel.
A Celebration of Life for Harley will be held on Saturday, August 18 at 11 am at Living Stones Church, 2020 – 40 Ave, Red Deer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, T4R 3S6. Condolences to Harley’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
