1960 – 2019
It is with saddened hearts that the family of Glen Robert Anderson announce his passing on August 11, 2019. He passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn, his daughters Alyssa (Keah) Rose, their children Teyavey and Marz, Aimee (Brad) Johnson their children Nevaeh, Randy and Riley, and daughter Amber Anderson. He is also survived by his parents Gary and Sylvia and brother Vince (Louise) Anderson.
Although born in Edmonton, Glen was a long-time resident of Red Deer, working at AGT/TELUS as a Cable Repair Technician, serving central Alberta. He was a long-standing member with the TWU (Local 205) and will be missed by many of his fellow members. Glen loved camping, fishing and hunting. He was an excellent and inventive gourmet chef and baker. With Carolyn at his side, he traveled numerous times to the beaches of Cuba and Mexico but the back roads of Alberta were truly his home.
There will be a Celebration of Life held in Red Deer on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Waskasoo Estates Community Hall in Red Deer County (just off Hwy 2A) 37543 England Way between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm. There will also be a Celebration of Life in Edmonton held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Centre for Prions and Protein Folding Diseases. Cheques can be made payable to the University of Alberta (please include the following phrase – Prions Activities Speedcode 2765).
