Gilbert (Gil) Eugene Letwin
Gil was born in Sexsmith, Alberta, November 26, 1948 and peacefully passed July 27, 2025 with family by his side, in Red Deer Alberta.
He was predeceased by his parents Eugene Letwin (Lois) and Louise Letwin.
He is survived by his wife Jill; children Jason (Connie), Drew, Tim (Michelle), Skyler; Daughter Tayler Shell (Coltan); grandchildren Matias, Sofia, Elise, Minno and Moyie; his brothers Hazen (Cindy) and Dene (Lydia); Brother-in-law Keith Maxey (Gayle), Sisters-in-law Sharon Holland (John) and Donna Sears (Gary); numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephews along with his special friend and caregiver Jaclynn WestergaardGil loved camping, boating and hosted an annual pig roast with horseshoe tournament for years. He always had a project on the go whether it be stained glass, wood working or painting. He enjoyed creating gifts for family and friends. He worked in the oilfield throughout western Canada and Texas for 50+ years retiring in 2020. He loved traveling taking many RV trips in Canada and the US along with trips to England, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
The family is sincerely grateful to the staff of Michener Extendicare for their loved ones care the last year.
Memorial donations may be made to the PSP Society of Canada or a charity of one’s choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 14th at 1:00 PM at The Landing Restaurant Gleniffer Lake Golf and Country Club, 35468 RR 30, Red Deer County.
