It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Garret Owen Lewis on February 4, 2022.
He was very loving, caring person. His family meant the world to him and Garrett meant the world to his family. He loved sports, fishing, hockey, rugby, skiing, skateboarding and football which was one of his greatest passions.
A linebacker in high school playing football for the H.J. Cody Lakers in Sylvan Lake and adult football in Central Alberta.
Garrett is predeceased by his grandparents, Owen Glynn & Dorothy Lewis; Bob & Pamela Wood; Auntie, Gail Miller and Uncle, Glen Lewis.
He will be lovingly remembered by his father, Robert Lewis; mother, Janice Lewis; sister Sherry Hutlet; brothers, David Lewis and Evan Lewis; niece, Shayla Wood; Maddison Hutlet and Payton Hutlet, great-niece, Melody (Mel Mel); great-nephew, Owen (O’Dawg); uncle, Lloyd (Karen) Lewis, uncle Darrell (Susan) Lewis and auntie Leslie Wood (Frank); uncle Bill Wood (Sylvie) and auntie Jenny Wood; many cousins and many friends. And his family dogs Stan and Roxy.
Garrett had a love for the mountains, and tried to spend as much time out there as possible.
He worked all over Alberta operating service Rigs in the oil patch. He loved the times his Rig would be set up close to the Mountains up by Grande Cache or down by Chief Mountain in Southern Alberta or West of Rocky Mountain House. He moved up fast on his job moving up to the drillers position. Garrett made many friends while working on the rigs.
To honor Garrett’s wishes no funeral service will not be held.
