Felix Dona (Don) Durand

After a short, courageous battle with cancer, Don passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 1, 2018, Easter Sunday morning.
He was predeceased by his wife, Leona; son in-law Don Stenhouse; and grandson Travis Durand.
Don will be lovingly remembered by his sons Leon (Joanne), Lyndon (Cindy), Layne (Janice); daughters Laurie Mechefske (Carl), Lana Stenhouse; grandchildren Carla (Tom), Naomi (Brent), Curtis (Lyndsay), Chantelle (Chris), Trent, Sara, Sydney, Cammi, Savannah, Cody; great grandchildren Hayden, Benjamin, Lyla, Jake, Kylie, Kassidy, Alexis; brother Leroy (Irene) and family. Don will also be deeply missed by his special friend Kathleen Weiss.
Don had a full life working in the oilpatch taking him to locales around the world. From 1972- 1992 Don and wife Leona owned and operated Leisure Campgrounds at Pine Lake. They had many loyal customers and made life-long friends. When they sold the campground, they retired and moved to Red Deer. After Leona’s passing in July 2013, Don kept busy travelling and attending car shows with Kathleen. Don was also was an avid curler.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Crossroads Church west of Hwy 2 off of the 32 St overpass, 38105 Range Road 275 on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
A special thank you to all of the staff at the Red Deer Hospital and the EMS crew for their compassionate efforts.
