Evelyn Quartly

Evelyn Quartly of Penhold, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the age of 79 years.
Ev got her teaching degree and used it for a few years before dedicating herself to becoming a full-time farmer with her husband Ronald, and raising two children. Several years later, she worked and eventually retired from the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
To say that Ev loved horses would be a huge understatement. Her two greatest loves in life were horses and her family. She belonged to several horse clubs and made many friends over the years who shared the same passion.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Quartly, in 2004. At that time, her good friends all stepped in to support her and keep her busy, and she had a lot of them.
Ev is survived by her son, Leon Quartly, daughter Nola Quartly, her grandson Evan Brewster and his wife Caylee, her granddaughter Nadine Dumont and her husband Tim, and three great-granddaughters, Evalee Brewster and Ava and Audrey Dumont.
There will be no service as per Evelyn’s wishes. Her immediate family will have a private event at a later date to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to either the Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St Clair Avenue West, Suite 500, Toronto ON, M4V 2Y7 (or online here) or the Central Alberta Humane Society, 4505 – 77 St, Red Deer AB, T4P 2J1 (or online here).
Condolences for the family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please put “Quartly” in the subject line.
