It’s with broken hearts we announce the passing of our father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Eugene Peter Traverse. He died at the young age of 61. Eugene was born Sept 14, 1960 in Placentia Bay, Newfoundland. He spent most of his childhood in Newfoundland until his immediate family moved to Regina, SK. Eugene spent most of his teen and adult years in Regina where he met his ex wife Bonnie Peel and began to raise a family. He made his career with the City of Regina, in various roles, to provide for his family. When his children became adults Eugene moved the Calgary where he met his partner Joanne Staples. Shortly after Joanne’s passing Eugene moved to Red Deer to be closer to family where he ended up passing away from Cancer.

Eugene was survived by his father Martin Joseph Traverse; daughters Marina Traverse and Jeanne (Tim) Ross; grandchildren Lizzy, Lexie, and Edward; brothers and sisters Randy, Marty, Janet, Helen, Peter, and Jason.
Eugene was preceded in death by his mother Jane Marie (Quilty) Traverse, sister Marie Traverse, and partner Joanne Staples.
We will forever remember your sense of humour, your boisterous resounding laugh, and your ability to make anyone around you laugh no matter the situation. Your larger than life personality and your no shame, no apologies, no regrets lifestyle will always be remembered and admired.
To the most uncomplicated/complicated man to come into our lives, we love you. Rest In Peace.
