Eugene Boll

Eugene Louis Boll, October 10, 1925 to May 27, 2017. Gene passed away peacefully at Points West Senior’s home in Red Deer, Alberta. Gene is survived by his loving wife Helen of 30 years, and his stepsons, Robert and David Palmer. Gene was the ninth of fourteen children born to Joseph & Winnifred Boll of Viceroy, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his first wife Barbara and many of his siblings. He was a grain buyer for Sask Pool, worked on the Trans Mountain pipeline. Then, Pioneer Grain elevator operator in Bashaw, promoted to district manager. He was a veteran RCAF Air Gunner, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Elks Club & a volunteer fire chief in Bashaw for nine years. Gene was a natural athlete and sportsman. Hockey, skiing, curling, golf, baseball, he did it all! He especially enjoyed big game hunting & fishing in the mountains with his buddies and his horses. He was voted honorary chairman for Ducks Unlimited in Bashaw in 1991. Gene enjoyed his family and friends and many nieces and nephews. When he retired he spent his winters in Mesa, Arizona where he enjoyed golf (he was a Hummer for 25 years), pool, etc. Gene always said, “Yes, life is good.”
Please come and share your fond memories of Gene at his Celebration of Life, to be held at Red Deer Royal Canadian Legion, on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in his name. Interment of his ashes will be at Alto Reste Cemetery in Red Deer, on Monday, July 17 at 11AM.
