Ena Wamsteeker (nee Westra)

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ena Wamsteeker on April 17, 2021 at the age of 82 after a long struggle with health issues.
Ena came to Canada with her family from the Netherlands in 1952 at the age of 13. She resided in Lethbridge and upon graduation worked at The TD bank in Cardston and Lethbridge for a number of years. In 1961 she married Peter Wamsteeker and together began a successful business in Red Deer – Wamsteeker Distributors in Red Deer until her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband Peter, her Father and Mother, Pieter and Marchiena Westra, sister Janny Schalk, brother in law Gerry Schalk and brother Jan Westra. She is survived by brothers Lloyd (Nettie), John (Grace) and Ev (Barb) and sister in law Joyce, as well as many great nephews and nieces and their families.
Ena was an active member of her church serving in different capacities over the years. She was also involved with the start – up of the Missions Thrift Store in Red Deer.
She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. We will always carry Ena’s memory in our hearts
Due to Covid restrictions there will be a private family service and Interment. The Service will be live streamed on April 23, at 1:00 P.M at pottershandsministries.org
The family wishes to acknowledge their gratitude to all the staff of Revera Aspen Ridge Red Deer for their care of Ena over the last 6 years.
