It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Leonard Yetter of Red Deer, Alberta. He passed peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Unit 32, surrounded by his family, on August 14, 2026, at the age of 73.

Ed was born in Lennoxville, Quebec, in 1953 and later moved to Red Deer, Alberta, in 1978. He spent 34 years with Woolco/Walmart, retiring in 2012 after a long and dedicated career.

Ed married the love of his life, Karen, in 1983. Together, Karen and Ed had two daughters and raised their family on their acreage north of Blackfalds.

His hobbies included playing darts and cards, caring for his animals, taking pride in his home and acreage, travelling and experiencing the world, and being a lifelong fan of the Montréal Canadiens. Ed was very proud of his daughters, their families, and the lives they are building.

Ed is lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen Yetter; daughter Lisa (Jon) Harnett and their children, Kobe, Lincoln, and Harper; daughter Kim Paylor and her children, Roman and Kairo; brother Graydon (Janet) Yetter; sisters Margaret Blair (Yetter) and Dianne McAvoy (Dyson); cousin Roy Yetter; numerous nieces and nephews; the Resta family; and many friends.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, Grace and Leonard Yetter.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong spirit, sense of humour, and unwavering love for his family. His greatest legacy will live on through his daughters, grandchildren, family, and the many people whose lives he touched.

Though he will be deeply missed, the memories, laughter, love, and stories shared with Ed will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life to remember Ed will be held at the Stockyard Social Hall at Heritage Ranch, 6300 Cronquist Drive, Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
