Edna Marlene Wacker (nee Moxness) of Innisfail AB passed away at the Innisfail Health Care Centre on July 7, 2018 at the age of 72 years. Edna was born in Innisfail in March of 1946 and raised in Markerville where the family stayed until the early 1980’s. She married Floyd in 1970 and they settled in Innisfail where they raised their two children, Billie Joe and Sandra. Edna became an L.P.N. and had a long-lasting career in nursing at the Innisfail Health Care Centre, retiring in 2011 at the age of 65 years. Edna enjoyed her family, grandchildren, camping, fishing and dancing. She was also very involved with the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion. Edna is lovingly remembered by her husband Floyd; son Billie Joe; daughter Sandra Lee Wacker (Michael Milne); two grandchildren Dylan and Hailey Milne; two sisters Betty-Lou (Darryle) Holt and Starr (Terry) Grover as well as numerous nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Edna was predeceased by her parents Edward and Anna Moxness; sister Gail Bailey; brothers Bruce Moxness and Barry Moxness and grandchildren Jackson Milne and Zachariah Bodman. A Memorial Service to celebrate Edna’s life will be held at the Innisfail Legion, 5108 – 49 Ave., Innisfail, AB on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 202, 5913 – 50 Ave., Red Deer AB T4N 4C4.
