Dr. Donald Edward Pedersen of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Sturgeon Community Hospital on September 23, 2021 at the age of 77 years.
Dr. Pedersen was born in Lacombe, Alberta in 1944. He attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and graduated in 1969. He began practicing chiropractic in Rimbey and Bashaw. Later he set up his clinic in Red Deer, where he served out the remainder of his career doing what he loved for over 50 years. He married his sweetheart, Lois Keller, in 1966 and together they had three children, Deborah, Bradley and Rebekah.
His heart was to love and care for people and give guidance for living life well. His compassion and concern for patients and others will always be remembered. He loved Jesus and his life’s mission was to fight the good fight, to finish the race and keep the faith. He made an incredible impact on so many; was a beloved husband, father, friend and mentor. He aspired to excellence and demonstrated what it means to truly finish well.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Lois Pedersen; his son Bradley (Kelly) Pedersen; his daughters Deborah (Evert Weenink) Pedersen and Rebekah (Darwin) Carruthers; his seven grandchildren; his brothers Bruce Pedersen and Bryan Pedersen; and his sisters Ruth Lennon and Anne Wedlund.
