Douglas James Howell
March 17, 1964-November 28, 2023

Doug lived his entire life in Alberta. Born in Calgary, he lived there with his family- Dad Jim, Mom Rosemary, sisters Patricia, Cheryl and Bev plus numerous pets!

As a young boy Doug was always busy- following his big sisters around, hanging with Dad in the garage, helping clear land and build two homes at Sylvan Lake. He formed forever friendships while motor biking with the Sunbreaker Cove guys and gals!

After high school Doug had various jobs and spent time in Edmonton, Calgary, High River and settled in Red Deer to be with Rose and Jim for their final years.
Douglas struggled with addiction, often attempting sobriety but always ending up under the influence. His health suffered but he was heard to say that he was only hurting himself and that he had no regrets!

Doug expressed the desire to be laid to rest with other family members and we will hold a graveside service at Altoreste Cemetery on Thursday May 23, 2024 at 11:00 to honor those wishes.

He also would want gratitude to be expressed to various Food Banks and Addiction aid centres as well as to Rev Chris Roth and staff at St Leonard’s Anglican Church. Please consider donating to a non-profit charity helping addicts.
