Born September 8th, 1940, in Eastend Saskatchewan, Dorothy was the youngest child of Eric and Erna Zordel and was raised on the family farm in Divide Saskatchewan with her siblings Gertie & Herb. She was predeceased by her oldest sister Elfriede.
After graduating from Frontier High School in 1958, Dorothy completed a business course at Garbutt’s Business College in Medicine Hat securing her a position at T. Eaton Company in the same city and then at the Soo-Security Motorways, Maple Creek.
It was during that time she met and went on to marry Morris Pollock in 1960. They moved to Lac La Ronge, Saskatchewan, where both their children, Shelley & Dean, were born. While raising their family, Dorothy & Morris moved to numerous communities within Saskatchewan and Alberta ultimately ending up in Drumheller.
After their divorce, Dorothy attended the Lethbridge Community College earning a Secretarial Science Degree. She applied those skills while working for Correctional Service Canada at the Drumheller Penitentiary as a clerk from 1981 until her retirement 25 years later.
In 1989, Dorothy married Peter Kuchel and shared their lives together, spending time with family and travelling for almost 28 years, until Peter’s passing in 2017.
Harry Wareing became Dorothy’s dear friend and fiancé a few years later. Harry was very attentive and lovingly cared for her over the years until her passing.
Dorothy loved the color pink, her family, animals, and RVing. She especially loved time spent taking her grandchildren on memorable camping trips.
