September 24, 1944 to July 9, 2024
We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Dorothy O’Donnell. Dorothy was a Mother, Grandmother, Better half, Friend, Crossword enthusiast, Rebekah, a Sassy Senior, and so much more.
Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband Duke, who passed away in 2006. At the time of his passing they had been married for 34 years. Dorothy was Rebekah for almost 50 years, having numerous roles including President with the loving support of her partner Doug. Doug who she loved and was loved by for 14 years. Dorothy enjoyed travelling with Doug, gardening with him on the farm, volunteering, along with their other adventures. She loved bowling with her friends and happily embraced having a glass or two of wine after her doctor told her it was good for her.
She always said her favourite times were having sleepovers at her daughter Krista’s (Chris) house where she could spend time with them, and her grandchildren Kaili and Gavin. It was made even better if granddaughter Colleen (Adam) came for the sleepover. It is some of the best memories that will be forever cherished. Her wallet was stuffed full of pictures of each of them from birth till the most recent pictures taken. They were her everything, just as she was their everything.
Growing up she would always say to “Turn the other cheek” if someone had done you wrong, but as she got older and sassier she changed it to “You tell them just to kiss the other cheek” Her quick wit and humor will live on.
Dorothy meant something different to each person she met, but the one common thing we can all agree on is that she will be deeply and forever missed.
Always in our hearts and thoughts. Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
