It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Margaret McWhan, who left this world peacefully on January 10, 2025 at the age of 99 1/2 years old. Born on September 13, 1925, in Lousana, Alberta, Dorothy was the cherished daughter of Ted and Gladys Green.

 

Dorothy was predeceases by her husband, Alexander McWhan, and her beloved children, Brenda McWhan, Edwin McWhan (Teddy), and Victor McWhan. She was the heart of our family, a nurturing mother, and a source of endless love and support.

 

She is survived by her three sons, Alan McWhan, Donald McWhan (Annette), and Casey McWhan (Donna), who carry forward her legacy of kindness, strength, and resilience. Dorothy’s warmth and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

 

A graveside burial service for close friends and family will be held at Lousana Cemetery at 11:00, followed by a celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on  Wednesday January 15th at 12:30 at Lousana Community Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lousana Community Center, a place that was close to her heart.

 

Dorothy Margaret McWhan’s spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear. May she rest in peace.
