Donald Wayne Storie

Donald Wayne Storie of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away on March 16, 2023 in Red Deer, AB at the age of 73 years.
Don was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba to the late Nelson and Beatrice Storie on June 23, 1949, the youngest of 5 children. Don began training at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Depot in Regina, Saskatchewan on March 8, 1971. As per the RCMP’s rules at the time, Don served 2 years with the Force before he was finally able to marry his high school sweetheart Hazel Heaps on April 7, 1973 in Stonewall MB.
Don spent his entire RCMP career in Alberta and worked numerous postings as far North as Fort McMurray and as far South as Milk River. Don retired April 7, 2002 and moved back to Lethbridge which had been one of his favorite postings. After retiring he worked for Home Depot, quite possibly buying as many tools as he sold, and later at the Lethbridge Casino. In 2013 Don and Hazel relocated to Red Deer to reside closer to their daughter & granddaughter.
Don was involved in the Lions club in Drumheller and the RCMP Veteran’s Association in Lethbridge.
Don is survived by his loving Wife Hazel, Daughter Justine and Granddaughter Skye.
In keeping with Don’s wishes no services will be held.
