It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Lloyd Callihoo. Born June 10th, 1944 in Barrhead, AB. Don was the son of Daniel and Delia Callihoo of Barrhead, Alberta. With the Union of Dan and Delia came eleven children, eight boys and three girls. Don was the second youngest and he was the last of the family to pass away on July 30th, 2025.

Survived by his wife Margaret Callihoo and their six children. Daniel Callihoo has four children and one grandchild, Colleen Callihoo and Gary Rondeel have three children and four grandchildren, Mitchell and Loretta Callihoo have two children, Christine Callilhoo has two children and one grandchild, Joseph Calllihoo and Kelly Jenkins have two children, Susanne Callihoo has two children.

Surrounded by his family and so much love, Don passed away at the age of eighty-one at the Red Deer Hospital on July 30th, 2025.

He will be remembered as an incredible father and grandfather and a very fun great grandfather. An absolutely terrific friend to all. The man could BBQ! Family and friends enjoyed so many great treats off of his grill over the years, both at his and Margaret’s home and on the many camping trips. Don, in these recent years had taken the game of pool back up for the long Winter months. As all who knew Don they knew his passion in his retirement years was for Golf. The Southern golfing buddies have renamed the annual Parker Golf Tournament to the Callihoo Classic. Fantastic!

Due to family health concerns the Celebration of Life will be held in late spring 2026.  Once the date is determined we will update on this page.

In lieu of flowers a donation to STARS Air Ambulance can be made and so appreciated.
