Donald George Thomson

Donald George Thomson of Red Deer went to be with Jesus, his Lord, on June 25, 2025. Born in Clareshom, Alberta, in September of 1931, he was the third of four children and only son of Fred and Viola Thomson. He is survived by his three children: son, Larry (Marjorie) of Edmonton, and their four children – Jack (Larissa) of Strathmore, Faye (Glen) Smith, Claire McAvoy and Dana (Shane) Berry all of Edmonton; son, Fred (Linda) of Red Deer, and their three children – Tricia (Dan) McClaflin of Edmonton, Candice (Peter) Jorgesen of Edmonton, and Jonathan (Kimberly) of Calgary and daughter Lois Sharp and her daughter Karli of Cupertino, California. Don is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren as well as two sisters, Grace Buchanan of Red Deer, and Wanda Jarvis of Nepean, Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife of sixty-four years, Nellie, as well as a sister, Helen Ford. A memorial service will be at the Balmoral Bible Chapel, 2700 – 55 St., Red Deer AB on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 2:00 pm.
