Diane Christine Ray

August 26, 1955 – January 5, 2026

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Christine Ray on January 5, 2026, at the age of 70.

Diane was born on August 26, 1955, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Terry Ray, and her parents, Marie Stuart and Alex Rutherford.

Diane is survived by her cherished children, Darren Ray, and Tara Ray; and her treasured grandson, Drake Ray (Jessica), who held a very special place in her heart. She is also survived by her brothers Marty Rutherford (Eileen) and Greg Rutherford (Patty); her sister Pat Duperron (Rod Holden); her stepfather, Ken Stuart, and her stepmother, Shirley Rutherford; her stepsisters Stacey Hoyme (Glenn) and Leslie Vollmer (Doug); stepbrothers Darren Brunner (Landra) and Cameron Brunner: as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Family meant everything to Diane, and she especially loved spending time with her grandson Drake, creating memories filled with laughter and love. She had a passion for music – particularly Elvis Presley – and was thrilled to have visited Graceland, Diane enjoyed crafting, hosting and attending a good party with friends and family and was known for her great sense of humour and infectious laugh.

Diane’s warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

A service will be held in Diane’s memory at a later date.
