Cynthia "Cindy" Roxanne Grant

Cindy Roxanne Grant of Red Deer passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on May 1, 2018 at the age of 60 years following her battle with cancer. Cindy was born to Stanley and Jacqueline Hovde in Provost, Alberta on June 19, 1957 and was raised in Hughenden, Alberta. After graduating high school, Cindy attended the Henderson Secretarial College in Edmonton, Alberta. She then moved to Red Deer where she met her husband Doug, then they moved to Calgary and started a family. The family then moved to Camrose, Alberta where Cindy and Doug raised their two children, Melissa and Brandon. Cindy later went back to school and took a Personal Health Care Aid course. In 2007, Cindy and Doug moved back to Red Deer where Cindy worked at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Cindy was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother. Family was Cindy’s passion and joy and she loved spending Sunday’s having family meals. Cindy enjoyed traveling, yoga, cooking, gardening, meditation and attending services at CrossRoads Church. She could often be found at Chapters or Costco browsing. Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her husband Doug; son Brandon; daughter Melissa (Shawn) Drabyk and grandchildren Grayson and Saylor. Also to cherish Cindy’s memory are her siblings John (Patti), Sandra, Debbie (Les), Cathy, Sharon (Greg), Cindy, Jeff (Wendy), Dwayne (Ronda), Darrin, Julianne (Stephen), Billy Jo ( Lisa) as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Cindy was predeceased by her parents Stan and Jacqueline; sister Carolyn; brother-in-law Grant; nieces and nephews Shelly and Clinton Wills, Colby Hovde and Michael Miller. Cindy’s family would like to extend a sincere “Thank You” to everyone who cared for her during her illness. A Memorial Service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held in the Chapel of CrossRoads Church, (SW corner of 32 St and Highway 2), 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer County, AB on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. For those wishing to attend, please enter through the north east doors.
