Colton Eric Ironside was born February 27, 1999 to the proud parents Thomas and Cheryl Ironside of Rocky Mountain House. On August 27, 2023 Colton took his last breath, as his fight with Cancer was over. He is predeceased by his Father Tom Ironside, Grandma Mae Bateman, Grandpa Danny May, his best friend Travis McNutt and numerous other family and friends who were taken too soon.
Mourning Colton is his loving family; his wife Kaitlin and their two beautiful boys Henry (3) and Brant (4 mths), his mother Cheryl Ironside, sister Heather (Dan) Burch, Mother in law Melissa Sims (Ben Jarvis), Laura (Mark) Hopkins and their 8 children, Grandpa Denny Bateman, Grandma Bev May and so many family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Colton was a man with true grit and lived his life without fear. From a young age Colton expressed his love for life in the fast lane. Taking an interest in trucks, cars, dirtbikes and everything fast. He spent many hours in the shop with his dad or checking out the next best deal on Kijiji. Growing up Colton had an amazing group of friends that stirred up shenanigans everywhere they went; with high school Football, dirtbiking with the boys, Miniature Bull Riding, Ice Racing, and generally just being open for adventure provided Colton with just that.
In 2019 Colton met Kaitlin, and they started their life together in Fort McMurray. There they lived a life full of real love, navigating all of the ups and downs they always made sure to do it together. On April 16, 2023, Colton and Kaitlin, surrounded by their closest family exchanged vows and were married. In 2020 while they were living in Fort McMurray, they found out they were expecting their first baby, Henry. Henry has brought so much joy into all of our lives, but the joy that Henry brought Colton was out of this world. Colton had always dreamed of being a dad and he was the proudest one around. In May of 2023 Colton and Kaitlin were blessed with their second son, Brant. In a time of darkness and uncertainty, Brant reinforced us all with love and light. Colton’s boys will continue on his legacy and they will always be reminded of the love and pride their dad had for them.
A celebration of Colton’s life will be held September 27, 2023 at the Everdale Hall between 2-4.
