It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dad, Clifford Norman Halvorson, of Sylvan Lake on Saturday, December 10th at the age of 94 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by our mom, Daisy, his wife of 66 years; children, Deborah (Brad), Don (Wendy), Gary (Leigh), (Sandra), and June (Blaine); 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Arthur; brother-in-law Tom Fenwick; sisters-in-law, Aneta Halvorson, Judy Fenwick & Joan Fenwick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dad will also be dearly missed by his friends at the Sylvan Lake Lodge where he took such loving care of their garden and flowers, and those at the Bethany Care Centre where he helped our mom nearly every day.
He was the youngest of six and predeceased by a son, Raymond, a grand-son, Jeffrey, a great-grandson, Layden, two sisters & brothers-in-law, Alice (Carl) Engman and Florence (Matt) Sauer, two brothers, Howard and Gordon, and sister-in-law, Grace Halvorson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 19th at the Alliance Community Church (4404-47th Avenue, Sylvan Lake).
We wish to send a special thank you to the Innisfail paramedics, the ER staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre with Dr. Rogers, Dr. Vajcner, and dad’s nurses Tammy and Ashleigh for their kindness, compassion and care of our dad and our family on an incredibly difficult day.
Memorial donations in Dad’s name may be made to The Sylvan Lake Lodge Foundation (100, 4620-47 Ave, Sylvan Lake, AB T4S 1N2) or Bethany Sylvan Lake (4700-47 Ave, Sylvan Lake, AB T4S 2M3).
