Clara Rosina Henry of Red Deer AB passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on April 20, 2022 at the age of 93 years.
Clara was born at Naco AB. She spent her childhood growing up on the farm near Coronation AB. She married Arnold Henry on August 28, 1949 in Coronation. They moved to the Alix area and purchased a farm, where they had their three children, Vernon, Marilyn and Larry.
They spent an entire life on the farm where Clara very much enjoyed her gardens partaking in numerous flower, fruit and vegetable shows, many of which she took top prizes. Clara enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, painting pictures, cake decorating and quilting. She had many hobbies and excelled at them all. She really could make or fix almost anything. They retired to Red Deer in February of 1992.
The greatest love and joy of her life was all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the feeling was mutual. We will all miss her buns and cinnamon buns! Clara was a remarkable lady with a mischievous sense of humor, a good dose of common sense and a great zest for life. She was loved and respected by everyone who knew her.
Clara will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Marilyn (Duane); son Larry (JoAnne); ten grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; brother Clarence (Fay); numerous nieces; nephews; extended family members and all her friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Arnold; son Vernon; one sister; one brother and her parents.
A celebration of life will be held in the Chapel of the CrossRoads Church, (SW corner of 32 St and highway 2), 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer County, AB on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. For those wishing to attend, please enter by the northeast chapel doors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 100, 119 – 14 St NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 or to the Arthritis Society, 1700, 393 – University Ave Toronto, ON M5G 1E6. Condolences to Clara’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net.
