It is with sad hearts, that we announce the passing of this special lady, our loving mother, Clara Ellen Smith on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Clara Smith (nee Paulson) was born on a farm near Morris, Saskatchewan on September 7, 1930. In 1933, Clara’s parents and siblings moved to her grandfather’s farm near Armena, Alberta. Her mother passed away at an early age; and Clara and her two younger sisters were cared for by her older brothers and sisters. In July 1946, Clara moved to Delburne. Two years later, she married Lloyd Thomas Smith on September 6, 1948, and moved into the home where she lived, until her passing. Clara lived in Delburne for seventy-three years; where she raised her five children, and was very involved in the community that she loved. She will be fondly remembered for having a generous spirt and her incredible sense of humor right up till her passing. Clara had a passion for gardening, baking buns, making jam, and giving it all away. Clara’s greatest treasures are her loving family. Clara will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Lyal, Rick, Bev (Ernie), Brenda and Ken (Jerrie); her nine grandchildren, Michael, Sayler (Neil), Kendra (James), Blair, Brett, Barret (Colleen), McKenzie (Evan), Madison (Kimber) and Dustin; and her eight great grandchildren, Skylar, Avery, Gavin, Nigel, Odin, Dagny, Clara and Ivy. Clara was predeceased by her loving husband, Lloyd, a daughter-in-law, Sherry, her mother, Ethel, her father, Carl, three brothers, John, Melvin and Lloyd and six sisters, Florence, Pearl, Marion, Hanna, Marjorie and Leona.
