Cherry Miller passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Red Deer Hospice Society, with her family by her side.
Cherry was predeceased by her parents, John and Marj Barton, and her sisters, Rena Sala and Bonnie Barton.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Marj Creighton (Cam); son, Brent Miller; sisters, Cheryl Munro and Penny Nelsen (Barry); grandchildren, Ryan Creighton, Candace Lyttle (Gavin), Cass Creighton, and Augie Creighton; great-grandchildren, Axton, Hunter, and Walker Lyttle; as well as her beloved pets, Molly and Chip.
Born in Stettler, Cherry grew up near Nevis, Alberta. After graduating from the Certified Nursing Aide program in Calgary, she moved to Red Deer and dedicated more than 40 years of service to the Red Deer Regional Hospital as a compassionate and hardworking nurse.
In 1967, Cherry married Howard Miller. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, and—above all—spending time with her family. She had a generous heart and was known for ensuring no one ever went hungry in her presence.
To her family, Cherry was the best granddaughter, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, a true role model who embodied love, compassion, and strength in every circumstance. Her influence and kindness will continue to live on through the generations.
Cherry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
