Charles “Chuck” Paul Upshall earned his heavenly reward on February 21, 2023. Chuck was born on October 17, 1936 in Edmonton. He was the oldest of 3 children born to Clement and Isabella Upshall. He was blessed to have 3 older half-sisters. He grew up in several places across Alberta, in Nanaimo, BC, and in Toronto, before completing his high school in Grande Prairie. He married Pearl Hope Beresh in September 1958, and brought his young family back to the Peace Country in 1967. Chuck’s hobby farm was in the Webster community north of Sexsmith, AB, where he established the Cha-Gay apiary and packaged honey under the name ‘Country Honey’. He worked with many to establish Grace Bible Fellowship in Sexsmith. In the 1980s you could find him at Fashions by Beres in Grande Prairie which he owned together with his lovely wife. After moving off the farm, he and Pearl spent more than 20 years in Grande Prairie before relocating to Red Deer in 2017.
Left to mourn his presence on earth is his wife Pearl of Red Deer; his daughter Gayle Hagan of Sylvan Lake, and grandchildren: Ory (Sydnie) Hagan of Edmonton, and Sheraea (Avery) Rusk of Gravelbourg, SK and the greats: Nora, Selma, Seth. Together, with a host of nieces and nephews his sisters also mourn: Ruth (Sid) Warren of Duncan BC, and Shirley (Ed) of Red Deer; and brother’s-in-law Tim (Margurite) Beresh of Hamilton, ON and Calvin (Janet) Beresh of Niagara Falls; and sister-in-law Faith (David) Laakso in Belize. His son, Chad, was waiting for him heaven-side.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held Monday, February 27 at 11 am at Impact Church in Red Deer. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations could be made to Embraced Worship, Red Deer – a place where Chuck found comfort and joy worshipping his Lord and Savior. Condolences to Chuck’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Upshall” in the subject line.
