Donnelly, Carolyn Regina
1978 – 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Regina Donnelly, daughter or Regina and the late Pat Donnelly. Carolyn was born in Edmonton, on July 24, 1978. Shortly after her birth, her family relocated to Red Deer. Carolyn’s life presented many challenges but her family and friends were always there to support her. She had a unique way of communicating and was the gem of her parents’ lives. Carolyn died on September 28, 2020 at home with Regina by her side.
One of Carolyn’s passions was driving around Central Alberta with her parents visiting the original farm where Frank and Eleanor always welcomed them.
If one believes that we’re all put on earth with a purpose, perhaps Carolyn, with her small stature and beautiful braided hair with red ribbons, who radiated a childlike innocence, was here to help us appreciate the beauty in the simpler things; whether that be; The unbridled joy of a game show contestant or the simple melodies of Tommy Hunter or the giddy joy of greeting your mother after a long day.
Carolyn is predeceased by her father, Patrick Donnelly, his five sisters and three brothers-in-law. She is survived by her mother Regina, three uncles, Laurrie Curran, Peter Giacomin and Peter (Linda) Zuege and numerous first and second cousins, as our generations have blended the decades. Some very special people in Carolyn’s life are Remy Bejar, and Sarah Odegard, along with Rose DeTorres. Carolyn leaves behind too many friends to name.
A funeral for Carolyn was held October 3rd at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bluffton, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
