Carl David Roth, a cherished soul known for his loving nature, kindness, and friendly demeanor, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in his hometown of Red Deer, Alberta, the same place where his story began on September 6, 1941. Carl, a man of great integrity and warmth, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Carl’s life was one of dedication and hard work. He spent his years as a heavy duty mechanic and as a farmer, pouring his passion and skill into every task he undertook. His hands were not only skilled but were also a symbol of his willingness to help others and his commitment to his craft.
Predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Dorothea Roth; his brothers, Frank, Lorne, Joseph & Phillip; and his brother-in-law Peter Muraca. Carl’s legacy is one of love and family. Though he has departed from this world, the memories and lessons he imparted remain as a guiding light for his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with him.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan Watson; his siblings, Garth Roth (Deb Roth), Marie Muraca, Lynn Woffindin (Keith Woffindin) and Judy Young; his children, Terry Roth, Heather Lelond (Ray Lelond), John Watson (Karen Brausen) and Darren Watson (Patricia Watson); his grandchildren, Dyson Henry, Emily Nelson, Josh Nelson, Ava Lelond, Emily Lelond, Jeff Watson (Kayla Burak), Jenna Watson (Brant Woertman), Vanessa Tomkow (Shawn Tomkow), Alicia Parsons (James Maygard) & Tyler Watson; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Madilyn, Bentley, Beckett, Jaks, Blake & Mia; and many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Carl’s life was a testament to the simple yet profound impact one person can have through daily acts of kindness. He approached life with a gentle spirit and an open heart, making friends wherever he went and leaving a lasting impression with his amiable nature. His laughter was contagious, his smile brightened the darkest of days, and his generosity knew no bounds.
As we bid farewell to Carl, we reflect on a life well-lived, a journey filled with joy, love, and an abundance of friendships. He was a beacon of light in the lives of many, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Carl’s departure is a solemn reminder of the fleeting nature of life, yet his influence will persist through the countless lives he touched. He lived fully, loved deeply, and his essence will forever resonate within the fabric of our community.
We honor the memory of Carl David Roth, a man of virtue and a beloved figure to all. His story does not end with his passing but lives on through the cherished moments shared with him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will continue to flourish in the hearts of those he loved.
Memorial donations in Carl’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories in honor of his wife, Joan Watson.
