MINER, Candice Marie
June 16, 1959 – August 24, 2021
Candice Miner (nee Mitchell) our beautiful sister, passed away with her family by her side after courageously battling dementia on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the age of 62.
Candice is survived by her husband, Lyle Miner. And she will be sorrowfully and lovingly missed by her eldest brother, Daniel of Estevan, SK; son, Aaron (Jolene) of Regina, SK; son, Ryan and daughter, Taylor Krantz of Melville, SK; her second brother, Mike(Arleen Knuttila) and Mike’s daughter, Larissa, all of Red Deer, AB; her youngest sister, Charlene (Bill) Dolan of Red Deer, AB; and their three sons, Matthew of Edmonton, Brandon and Jordon both of Calgary; brother-in-law, David of Calgary; niece, Ciara (Zoltan) Takacs; as well as special great nephews and nieces, Trystin Rebman (Cassidy) of Regina, SK; Shay Lynn Csizmadia (Tony)of Spokane, WA; Chasity Mitchell (Carlin) of Estevan, SK; and Paige Mitchell of Regina, SK. Candice was predeceased by her father, Peter Paul Mitchell in 2003; her mother, Anne Marie Mitchell in 2018; and sister, Sharon Anne Boyd in 2012; nephews, Ryan T. Mitchell in 2003 and Shawn Daniel Mitchell in 2014; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Candice grew up in Estevan, SK attending St. John’s Catholic, I.H.J.H. & ECS schools. After graduating she moved to Alberta settling in Red Deer in 1979. She worked a short time for the Bay, then became a telephone operator for AGT for approximately 19 years. Early in her phone career she and her sister, Sharon took a 4 month leave from their jobs and travelled to Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and Thailand. After her employment with AGT she had numerous short term gigs settling at West Park IGA Pharmacy in Red Deer. She retired in 2016.
Candice loved country music, dogs, children, walking, aerobics, singing, the colour purple and a very clean and tidy home. Candice was very personable & helpful, she enjoyed family gatherings and socializing with customers & friends.
The family are eternally grateful to the staff of Units Chinook & Aurora at the Centennial Centre in Ponoka for taking such tender care of our precious sister Candice. A special thanks to Rita Le Moing and Maureen Wielinga for their initial care and assessment.
There will be a private family Catholic Graveside Service for immediate family.
