Brian Ernest Beck of Red Deer, Alberta passed away on August 18, 2026, at the age of 79 years. Brian was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan on May 9, 1947, to Ernest and Ethel Beswatherick. He was the oldest of three, being the big brother to sisters Marianne and Joanne. The family made a few moves, but much of Brian’s early life was spent in Carberry, Manitoba. Brian married Diane Renton on August 26, 1972, and in 1974 they moved to Alberta where he spent the rest of his life. Brian loved working outdoors and enjoyed a long career in residential roofing and siding, as well as countless hours spent repairing and rebuilding automobiles.
A true handyman, Brian was skilled in numerous trades and, especially in retirement, could always be relied on to lend a hand (or a tool) to a friend or family member. He also enjoyed long drives on unknown roads exploring the countryside and made many such trips with his beloved dog, Prince. Though Brian was a workaholic, he loved his family and was proud of his two sons and two grandchildren.
Left to celebrate his life are sons David (Sabrina) and Kevin; grandsons Corbin and Colton; sisters Marianne and Joanne as well as numerous other family members and friends. Brian was predeceased by his wife Diane and his parents. Brian will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed. At his own request, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, PO Bag 5030, Red Deer AB T4N 4E7
