BONNIE ELLEN BARTON
Bonnie Ellen Barton was born February 20, 1944, to John and Marjorie Barton, at their home on the family farm south of Nevis, Alberta.
Bonnie grew up on that farm along with her four sisters. She attended Union Hall School up to grade eight, then Erskine school for the remainder of her junior high years and completed high school at Stettler. She later attended Prairie Bible Institute in three Hills and took nursing at Red Deer College and the UofA.
Bonnie then moved to Red Deer where she worked several years for the RCMP, then for Alberta Government Telephones (AGT).
She continued her education at Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. then briefly worked at the Auxiliary Hospital in Red Deer before being accepted into the nursing program at Red Deer College.
Bonnie married Bernard Barret in 1970. They lived in Red Deer, then moved to Edmonton to continue their education. They eventually settled in Calgary where twin boys Colin and Wesley were born in 1974, and their daughter Christa in 1978.
In her later years, Bonnie married Gerry Antoni in Calgary Ab. They had many golden years together traveling and fishing and visiting with their many friends along the way. Bonnie eventually lost her valiant battle for life. Gerry cared for her in the end, making it possible for her to remain at home until her last days.
Bonnie passed from this life to be with her Lord March 8, 2024.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marjorie Barton and her sister, Rena Sala.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Gerry Antoni; sons, Colin Barrett and Wesley Barrett; daughter, Christa Barrett; grandchildren: Faith, Dakota, Jackson and Davis; sisters, Cherry Miller, Penny Nelson (Barry), and Cheryl Munro; numerous nieces and nephews .
Bonnie was a ray of light in the lives of all those who knew and loved her. Her faith in God, her thoughtfulness, dedication, acceptance, her zest for life, and her big loving heart will be greatly missed.
