Beryl Jane Schofield

Beryl Schofield of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital in Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at the age of 78 years. Beryl was born in Trochu in 1947, grew up in Three Hills, and settled in Red Deer in the late 1970’s. She worked in the Alberta court system as well as the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Beryl was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. Beryl was known and will be remembered for her generosity, classiness, plucky spirit, and her quirky sense of humour. Her tender-heartedness, kindness and love will be cherished by those who knew her. Beryl was known to be an amazing baker as well as a great cook.
Beryl will be lovingly remembered by her partner Marcel Legault; two sons Geoffrey C. Schofield, and Jason G. Schofield; two grandchildren Leif Schofield, and Zayne Schofield; two brothers Glen Crawford and family, as well as Dan Crawford and family; two sisters Carol Zondag and family, as well as Sharon Wice and family; the Kirk, Leaver, and Crawford families; as well as numerous close friends that were like family to Beryl. Beryl was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Jean Crawford.
A private family service will be held in her memory at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Safehaven Project for Community Living, School breakfast/food program for indigenous children, or Dementia.
