Bastiaan Willem van der Hoek – October 13, 1931 – April 19, 2022

Bas passed away peacefully on April 19^th, 2022 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, after a ten year struggle with kidney disease.

Bas is survived by his wife of 49 years Hennie; daughter Sjanie (Jack) Lindhout; sons Art (Marie); Wim (Susan); Nicholas van der Hoek; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Bas was predeceased by his first wife Maria in 1970; his parents Willem and Sjaan van der Hoek and his four siblings.

A memorial service will be held on April 28, 2022 at the First Christian Reformed Church, 16 McVicar Street, Red Deer, Alberta at 1:30 PM.

The family is sincerely grateful to Dr. Jim and Dr. Lee and all the staff of the dialysis unit at the Red Deer Hospital for the excellent care they provided for our husband and father.
