A great lady has taken her final bow and left the stage. Barbara More passed away surrounded with the love of her family on July 9, 2018. Born at Ingleton, Yorkshire, Barbara Mackenzie enlisted in the R.A.F. in 1940 at the young age of 18. Stationed near Aberdeen she met a young Scottish doctor named Charles More and they were married in 1944. They emigrated to Canada in 1948, eventually settling in Red Deer. While raising her family Barbara revealed a naturally strong talent for acting and appeared in and assisted in many productions of Parkland Players and C.A.T. She could often be found in the company of her great friend Eileen Watson as they fulfilled their roles as The Snoop Sisters. Predeceased by her husband Charles, companions Kib Kildare and Bud Dash, and granddaughter Lindsey More, Barbara is survived by her children David (Yvette), Kate, Richard (Cindy), Robert (Christa), grandchildren Robin Gillis, John More (Amy), James More (Catherine), Stephanie More (Marshall), Whitney Eckstrand (Dustin), Taylor More, Sarah More (Kerr) and great grandsons Carson Eckstrand and Calvin More. A celebration of the life of Barbara More will take place in the autumn.
