1948 – 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, father, grandfather, great- grandfather, uncle, friend, Anton (Tony) Sonnleitner on December 25, 2023. Anton Sonnleitner was born July 9, 1948 in Graz, Austria. He was the eldest son of the family. He was always a supportive and a good brother. He had struggled with Parkinson’s Disease for the last several years of his life and with other health issues. He passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Many thanks to Taylor View Towers staff, Dr. Odendaal, and other medical professionals who helped and cared for Anton.
Anton, known as Tony, had a TV repair business for many years in Penhold. Tony was very friendly and tried to accommodate all those who dealt with him. He was a great part of our family and we will dearly miss him.
Tony leaves to mourn his loss, wife, Cynthia Sonnleitner, brother, Willy (Laura) Sonnleitner of Sunbreaker Cove, brother, Otto (Monya) Sonnleitner of Edmonton, sister, Linda (Jerry) Elopre of Red Deer, children, Sherrie (Jason) Webb, Aaron (Lisa) Sonnleitner, Kevin (Denise) Sonnleitner, grandchildren, Laryssa, Brayden, Sebastian, Logan, Kelsey, and Kyle, great grandchildren, Charlie, Lily-Anne, Theodore, nephews, Frank, Ethan, Zach, Mark, and Scott. Anton was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Pelagia, a brother, Gunther, a nephew, Isaac, and Uncle Ed.
All are welcome to come and pay their respects to the family 30 minutes prior to the Memorial Service. A Public Memorial Service will be held at the Crossroads Church, 32nd Street and Queen Elizabeth II Highway, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 1 pm. Cremation will follow at the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
