Annis Louise Kerr

It is with great sadness and love we announce the passing of Annis Louise Kerr on December 24th at her home in Michener Extendicare Red Deer at the age of 97. She was born to Ruth and Thomas Howes on December 30, 1919 in Bethany West Virginia. Her family moved to Willow Farm, a few miles from Millet, Alberta in 1925. In 1939 she married Gordon Kerr and moved to Edmonton and later Grand Prairie. She and Gordon and their children moved to Red Deer in 1959 and resided there until their passing. Annis is survived by her sister Irma Fleming of Ponoka, her 4 children, Grant (Judy) of North Vancouver, BC; David (Agnes) of Viking Alberta, Linda Prior of Red Deer and James (Sandi) of Calgary. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Scott, Jason, Aimee, Thomas, Christopher, Colby, Micheal and 2 great grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon, her sister Esther, her grandson Kevin, and her step granddaughter Annette.
Annis was very active until recent years and enjoyed curling, golfing, square dancing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, bowling, quilting, wintering in Arizona, United Church Women’s group and Alberta Women’s Institute.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Friday, January 12 at Eventide Funeral Chapel in Red Deer. In lieu of flowers, donations to Gaetz United Church in Red Deer would be appreciated.
