Ann Linthwaite Gengos

Ann Linthwaite Gengos (nee Tweedy) departed peacefully on August 27, 2024, in the palliative care unit of the Red Deer Regional Hospital after a long struggle with illness.
Ann is survived by her two children Ian (Michelle) Gengos and Nicki (Chris) Christensen and her beloved grandchildren Nicholas (Debra-Lyn), Andrew (Javonna), and Alex (Bethanie) Christensen, Hale Gengos, and Alora and Willem Cameron.
Ann is also survived by her sister Eleanor (Les) Csabay of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years Harry Gengos in 2018, and by her parents Ian and Jean Tweedy.
Ann was born and raised in Montreal and the Eastern Townships and trained as a registered nurse at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal. Ann made many friends at school and in training and remained close to them over the years.
Ann and Harry met in Montreal and moved to Australia where they were married. After a few years there, they settled in Drumheller to raise Ian and Nicki. There Ann made many close friends through her involvement in community boards, committees and her nursing career.
Ann and Harry moved to St. Albert in the early 90’s where Ann continued her nursing career until retiring after 40 plus years. She made many friends and enjoyed her retirement in St. Albert.
The strength of her character and personality created lifelong bonds and memories, and greatly impacted the lives of those that knew her. Ann was loved and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Palliative care until at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:00 pm in Merchant Hall at Heritage Ranch in Red Deer, Ab on September 28th, 2024.
