Adriaan (Art) Cornelis Van Loo

Adriaan (Art) Cornelis Van Loo of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on June 26, 2024, at the age of 73 years. Art was born November 9, in The Hague the Netherlands. He came to Canada with his family at the age of 8 years old. He learned Basic English on the playground that summer. After graduating High School, Art was sponsored into the Parts man Program. He met Joanne on Thanksgiving weekend in 1972 and they were married August 1973. Andrea was born Feb. 1976, and Gabrielle (Brie) in Jan 1979. He received the rookie of the year award for the kinsmen club of Canada. He enjoyed helping the community and help all executive positions in the club. Art was supportive in the church also. He was a cadet councillor and a Deacon. Art was interested in Botany and knew plants and their care. His favorite flower was the Day Lily. His favorite activity was fishing, we spent many summers in Northern Manitoba.
Lovingly remembered by his wife Joanne Van Loo, daughter Andrea (Ken) Ames, 3 grandchildren Darian and Seth Ames, Dawson Van Loo, his 2 step grand children Mackenzie and Jordan Lindstrom. 1 sister Yvonne (Shane) Dubois.
Predeceased by Sister Nicolette Van Loo, Daughter Gabrielle Lindstrom, Nephew Nate Dubois, Brother Jack Van Loo, Sister Wilma Martin and Parents Jake and Miaake Van Loo.
Funeral service will be held at First Christian Reform, date to be determined. Interment will be a private affair.
