It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our son, brother, grandson, and nephew Jake. Jake was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 7 at 7:41 a.m. He grew up in Didsbury, Alberta and attended Linda Lunts Playschool and Kidsbury Daycare. He was so cute and adorable, everyone loved him instantly. Jake made friends in school easily. Everyone liked him, he was sweet and kind and had an unforgettable laugh. He was brilliant in music; drums, guitar, and trumpet, and that’s where he had his first job teaching at Top Note Music School, at the age of 14. Besides music, Jake played hockey, soccer, baseball, and volleyball. He hated when his family cheered too loud and called him Jakee-buns! Jake’s main passion was the farm and everything that entailed from the animals to the equipment – even the broken equipment. He loved driving tractors, big trucks, bailers, and he loved the farm dogs! He loved quadding and dirt biking and getting dirty! And he loved his Twisted Teas and had a sarcastic, dry humor and made everyone laugh like crazy! Jake worked at GTA, automative apprentice. He started there in Grade 10, 2019 through the school program. And it was there he became part of their family. Jake was an amazing worker and loved his job and the whole GTA family. He leaves behind his mother and stepfather Vanessa Weitz & Mark Hughes, his father and stepmother Shane & Becky Weitz, his brothers Carter and Ben, his grandparents Lawrence & Marjorie Malinowski, Pearl & Gordon Weitz, Phil & Mary Hughes, Robyn Dalziel and Bryan & Carol Anderson. He is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was welcomed in heaven by his Big J, Uncle Troy, Auntie Sharon, Justin, TG, Baba, Terrace, Uncle Abe, Uncle Gordon, Royce, Great Grandmas and Great Grandpas, and Lila and Reid and many others. Celebration of Life was held at Didsbury Zion Church with all of his friends and family to share stories and celebrate Jake on March 2. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Jake Weitz Memorial at jakeweitzmemorial@gmail.com All we have at the end are the stories we leave behind and the lives we touched while we were here.
