JUDSON, Brody
1999 – 2026
It comes with great sadness to announce the passing of Brody Alexander Judson on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at only 27 years old, leaving an immeasurable loss in the hearts of those who loved him. It is impossible to capture such a full life in a few words. Knowing him, he would probably want this to read simply: he was born, he died. But there is far too much about Brody worth celebrating to leave it at that. Brody loved fiercely. Everyone who knew him felt how deeply he cared. He was a beautiful soul—a kind, witty, and intelligent person with a calm energy and strong presence. His sense of humor could light up any room, often making people smile even when it seemed impossible. Brody brought joy to those around him, no matter the circumstances. There truly was never a dull moment when he was nearby. Brody was incredibly hard working. Brody loved using his hands, especially when working as a heavy-duty mechanic or on his beloved trucks. He also had a passion for speed and burnouts—whether tearing up trails on his dirt bike or cruising proudly in his canary-yellow 1972 GMC. Despite his love of all things mechanical, Brody also appreciated the finer side of life. He enjoyed good restaurants and was equally happy with sushi or a perfectly cooked tomahawk steak. He loved hockey and proudly wore #9 for the Eckville Eagles and also hustled with the Sylvan Lake Lakers. Brody cherished road trips and time on the open road. He explored much of Alberta, visited Japan, Cuba, Mexico, the U.S., and many parts of Canada. Among all of these, one peaceful spot stood out—Vancouver Island, his favorite place to unwind and reflect. Like all of us, Brody faced challenges. He struggled, but he also had significant triumphs. Through the highs and lows, he remained resilient and as dedicated as he could be. Brody was never defined by his struggles, what mattered most to him was the love and support he felt from the people around him. As his sister said, “Near the end, I think you were just trying to protect all of us from the world.” In his own words, Brody shared reflections that captures how he approached life: “Ensure you actively put your strength into use daily. Use your foundation and strength to overcome hardships that would normally send you into a spiral.” “Never become complacent. Grow your strengths and be aware of your weaknesses and address them. Always strive to be on an uphill climb while ensuring balance and consistency.” That was Brody—strong, honest, kind, and determined to make the best of every moment. Brody’s passing does not extinguish his light. He will be missed and always loved. His family takes comfort in trusting that he has found peace. If you want to connect with Brody, he’d love for you to go for a cruise on a beautiful day and think about a memory you shared—or stop by Shiso Japanese Sushi Restaurant in Red Deer, Alberta, and order the tuna tataki. In honour of Brody’s memory, a Celebration of Life with be held at the Eckville Community Centre on Monday, March 23, at 2:00 P.M.
