It is with great sadness and unforgettable love that we mourn the passing of Mitchell Conrad Burton at the age of 27. Mitchell was born in Olds, Alberta and is survived by his wife, MJ Vergara; grandparents Martin and Rosalie Jorgensen; parents, Brent and Connie Burton; and his siblings Brittany (Blake) and Sheridan Burton. He was raised on a mixed farm just outside of Olds where he grew a love for animals. Through participating in Eagle Beef 4H club and showing a keen interest in the beef industry, Mitchell went on to pursue a career as a Butcher after graduating with a Meat Processing Certificate from Olds College in 2013. Butchering was Mitchell’s passion. He took pride in his work and enjoyed the finesse. He loved spending hours smoking different meats, cooking and entertaining his friends!
He met the love of his life in 2016; MJ Vergara through Mitch’s good friend and they were married on December 20, 2018. They spent much of their time outdoors together kayaking, biking, and walking their two loving dogs.
Mitchell was known for many things. He was always kind, loving and showed compassion towards everyone he came across. Family was very important to Mitch. He enjoyed helping and visiting his grandparents out on their farm, and spending time with his sister Brittany and brother Sheridan.
We are going to miss Mitchell’s laughter, contagious smile, competitive edge and witty humor. Mitchell will remain forever in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wetlands/Botanic Gardens at Olds College on Friday July 15 at 1:00pm. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Cochrane Humane Society or the Meat Processing program at Olds College.
