We are mourning the loss of Keith Joseph Kinder, who passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 16th, 2022, at the age of 28 years. Keith was born on December 16th, 1993, in Red Deer, Alberta. He was raised in Oxbow, Saskatchewan, where his adventurous spirit led him into many youthful shenanigans. He was a speed-swimming champion, a motocross daredevil and a karate enthusiast. He loved many athletic activities, including rugby, football, snowboarding, and water polo, he also became a lifeguard and speed-swimming coach. Keith first cut a rug when he volunteered with the elderly in Oxbow, fearlessly entertaining the ladies with his dance moves. He served in the Air Cadets where he grabbed the reins and took his flying lessons before graduating high school in Saskatchewan.
Keith moved to Penhold, Alberta to attend school, earning degrees in Computer Science at the University of Calgary. He owned and operated his own computer and cell phone repair store, ‘Wired Up’, in Penhold for several years. Keith was currently running the family business, ‘Tracker Sales LTD.’ in Bowden, Alberta. He was looking forward to finishing his third degree by going back to university.
Keith’s tech interests developed him into an avid gamer, often challenging and entertaining his family or throwing parties with multiple TVs and gaming systems, sometimes for days on end. He loved music of all genres and worked security for several music festivals over the years. He could fearlessly disarm an opponent with his own unique way of dealing with confrontations; a method sometimes employed by the original Olympian wrestlers.
Keith was well travelled and had several great adventures around the world, such as snowboarding the Rockies in Montana, U.S.A and motorbiking in the mountains near Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. He took off parasailing in Mexico for his 16th birthday, bravely took a leap bungee jumping in Edmonton, Alberta and learned to surf on his 18th birthday in Sayulita, Mexico, where hanging eleven was added to his bucket list. He went cliff diving in Negril, Jamaica, rappelling and zip-lining in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, swinging with the monkeys at a full moon party in Thailand and discovered the joy of Buddhism while in Cambodia.
Keith was an incredibly proud big brother to his sisters, Kira and Kristina and was a loving son to his mother, Christine and father, Jeremy. He is survived by his great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Keith laughed big, was full of love and adventure, and oftentimes tacos. He touched the lives of so many people and brought nothing but unbridled joy and unabashed laughter to all. Keith will be forever missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
