It is with great sadness we share with you the passing of our son, Mr. Terry ‘TJ’ John Hewitt at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, December 3, 2023. He touched our lives for 41 years, as a son, a brother, a part of our family and a friend.
TJ was born on a beautiful spring day on March 12, 1982, in the small town of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He was a quiet boy with a gentle heart. He loved his little sister who he called “Lekkada” until he could say, Jessica. TJ was curious about how things worked. He grew up to be a fast runner and used this skill to play basketball during his High School years in Red Deer, Alberta. After High School, TJ settled in Blackfalds, Alberta, with his many friends, who he called family. TJ worked in the Oil and Gas Industry during his working career. He loved being a snubber and for the remaining year of his life, he enjoyed working as a Field Supervisor. After a long period of time of being away from home, he would return and spend his days playing with his loyal friend, his dog “Cash”. TJ enjoyed hanging out with his friends and riding his motorbike during the summer months. When he could, he would spend holiday time with his family in Sexsmith, Alberta, doing the things he loved such as, camping, and wrestling with his three nieces, who he loved dearly, and visiting with his parents, his sister, Jessica, and his brother-in-law, Pat. TJ new how to light up a room and he loved to make everyone laugh with his charismatic personality and his contagious smile. He could be heard saying “don’t forget to smile, it’s contagious”. He was a special soul, and he will be dearly missed by all.
TJ will be lovingly remembered by his father, John Hewitt of Sexsmith, Alberta; his mother, Barbara Magee of Sexsmith, Alberta; his sister, Jessica King and his brother-in-law, Patrick King of Sexsmith, Alberta; his nieces, Keana, Katie and Hannah King; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends, who he called “family”.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Legacy Place, 37557 Highway 2A, Red Deer County on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial Donations in TJ’s honor may be made to the charity of donors choice.
