1982 – 2025

Cory Robert Simmons of Innisfail, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, October, 17, 2025 at the age of 43 years. Cory was born in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in Sudbury, Ontario, he was the oldest of three children. He moved to Alberta in 2022 with his wife, Melissa, and their five children. Cory had a deep passion for strongman training, which reflected his strength, determination, and love of pushing his limits both in and out of the gym. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Melissa Smith, his four sons, Kaelen Simmons, Logan Simmons, Lukas Simmons, and Kory Simmons, and his daughter, Layla Simmons, all of Innisfail, Alberta. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Charlene Samarco of Mississauga, Ontario. Cory was predeceased by his mother, Brenda Giroux, his father, John Rees, and his sister, Nicole Simmons.
