It is with great sadness the family of David Milz announces his sudden passing on July 02, 2023, in Hunter Valley, Alberta. David was born in Calgary, AB on March 02, 1981, to Ed and Brenda Milz. He spent his childhood living in the city, relocating to the Olds area in 1999 after graduating from James Fowler High School to carry out his career as a millwright with his wife Jennifer. David put endless hours and continuous hard work into his career and company he co-owned with his father Ed. His dedication and drive for excellence has contributed to the success of Rising Compressor Services. Throughout his 24 years of experience in the natural gas industry he was able to make connections and everlasting friendships. Dave was actively involved in the hockey community as a child, as well as lacrosse, playing up to the age of 16. His passion for hockey lived on throughout his life as a big fan of the Calgary Flames. He also played football throughout his school years. He was an enthusiast for the outdoors, spending many years camping, fishing, hunting and dirt biking with his friends and family, giving him many opportunities to experience great adventures and create long lasting memories. Aside from his love of cooking and indulging in different cuisines, he loved having the opportunity to entertain friends and family with his delightful meals. Dave’s children were his pride and joy. He put a lot of emphasis on his family with unconditional love and support. He was proud of his two daughters and offered them many new experiences with a focus to provide them with an amazing life. Spending time with them out camping and teaching them how to dirt bike was one of the many highlights in his life. He spent many summers in Montana boating and surfing on Lake Koocanusa and enjoyed tubing as well as teaching his girls how to kneeboard and surf. Dave is predeceased by his mother Brenda, his four sons Adam, Brandon, Justin, and Ethan, his mother-in-law Kathy, and his niece Emmerson. He is survived by his father Ed, his brother Jay (Tammy), his daughters Mikayla and Annika, his sister-in-law Nikki (Talton), his father-in-law Keith (Heather), his grandmother Peggy, his partner Chelsi as well as his nieces, nephews, Aunties, and Uncles. A celebration of life will be held for Dave on Thursday July 13, 2023, at the Olds College – Alumni Centre in Olds, AB.
