It is with heavy broken hearts, tremendous sadness and deep sorrow to announce the passing of William Jaap, a son and brother, in Calgary, Alberta, on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the young age of 44 years.
Billy may have had a bad heart, but it was as big as the sky. He had acting dreams and aspirations, and loved his football so much that he took an extra year of high school. Billy loved his work as a Welder, earning a degree. He also loved the outdoors and would do death defying stunts like jumping out of a plane, climb the sheer sides of mountains or deep fry a turkey. No matter what Billy did, in the end, he made everyone laugh with his quick wit and one liners. Billy will be missed each and every single day by his family and friends and will always be a piece of everyone’s hearts. May he be at rest.
Billy is survived by his mother, Betty Jaap, his sister, Diane Hamilton (Weldon Mundle), and his brother Robert (Martinna) Jaap. Along with his nephews, Dylan Hamilton, Jaydyn Lovelace, and Brady Povey. His nieces, Tianna Smith, Ayla Jaap, Ada Jaap and his great niece Maya and great nephew Otto. Billy was predeceased by his father, George R. Jaap and his brother Shannon Hamilton.
