Mrs. Susan Elaine Sampson of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully, at her home, on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the age of 50 years. Susan was born in Fairview, Alberta in 1974, and graduated from Rimbey High School in 1992. She received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. Susan worked at the Delburne Centralized School teaching Fifth Grade, where she received the Edwin Parr Teacher Award for being an Outstanding First Year Teacher. She then taught online classes with North Star Academy for many years. Susan loved travelling. Some of her favorite places to go with her family were Hawaii, Mexico, and the Oregon Coast. Susan was a big planner and loved to organize events such as “Praise The Park” which was held in Red Deer for many years. The things most important to Susan were her family and friends, and she loved to plan “a big party”. Susan will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jay Sampson, her four sons, Sawyer, Sander, Jack, and Jonah, her daughter, Sable (Matt), her parents, Ken and Phyllis Whitehead, and her brother, Jeff. A Celebration of Susan’s Life was held at the CrossRoads Church, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., providing friends and family an opportunity to come together and honor the legacy she leaves behind.
